Symptoms
On Oracle Communications Network Charging and Control (OCNCC or NCC) and Oracle Communications Convergent Charging Controller (OC3C or 3C) version 12.0.6.0, there is an issue with the smsStatsDaemon process on the Service Logic Controllers (SLCs) where at midnight, the process crashes. This issue has only been observed on Linux based operating systems (OS').
The process is automatically restarted with the only service impact being that no statistics can be written while the smsStatsDaemon is restarting, and the loss of the single statistic which caused the process to crash.
This error may be reported by any of the Service Logic Execution Environment (SLEE) processes during this time:
This issue specifically occurs at midnight (or shortly after) but may not occur every day.
