Interface Down Events Being Received That Are Admin Down (Doc ID 3074665.1)

Last updated on MARCH 07, 2025

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Unified Assurance - Version 6.0.5 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

OCUA is generating events for interfaces that should be seen as admin down. Logic is present to prevent this, but our threshold standard service is still alarming on them. This is causing a flood of alarms that the NOC has to filter through.

If we update the threshold rules to verify if the interface is down when processing those thresholds, how would one add a condition to the standards threshold rule? By default, the included variables listed at the top of the rule do not give much to work on. Would we use a DBConnect clause to get instanceID and IntAdmin status? If so, could you provide an example?
