How Does OFSA Perform the Translation Calculations For Allocations Not In Functional Currency (Doc ID 371658.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 27, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Services Applications (OFSA)
Oracle Profitability Manager - Version: 4.5.39
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

How should the data be setup such that there is direct allocation by the functional currency without any translation of the currency?

Functional Currency: SGD

i.e. 1000 HKD in above example.

Scenario 1: Allocate expenses by (Volume * Standard Unit Rate)

Problem:
User expects OFSA to write 1000 HKD (10 * 100) to the ledger_stat table.
However, OFSA seems to assume that the data is in SGD (even though the standard unit rate is in
HKD!) and did a translation from SGD to HKD.

e.g.
Results given by OFSA
= 10 * 100
= 1000 SGD
= 4000 HKD (assume 1 SGD = 4HKD)
