"During a normal ASAP install, sample NEs are configured with secondary pools. These secondary pools cause errors during provisioning." (Doc ID 441884.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications ASAP - Version 4.6.3 and later
Oracle Solaris on SPARC (32-bit)

Symptoms

Description

"Secondary pools configured within ASAP are used by NEs (using the same NEP) whenever additional connections outside
those configured in the primary pool are required. If an NE cannot for instance use a connection in its own primary
pool (i.e. the port is disabled for some reason) and the max connections setting allows for another connection to be
opened, ASAP will select a device from the secondary pool. Since secondary pools are configured by default during an
ASAP install, devices may be assigned unintentially during live provisioning. Please remove the secondary pool
configuration for all sample NEs configured during the ASAP install."

Impact

These secondary pools cause errors during provisioning.
