Purpose
The purpose of this document is provide recommendations for application settings that impact performance, to describe known performance issues, and to explain what information to provide to support to diagnose performance issues within Oracle Performance Analyzer (PA).
Important: Beginning in Oracle 10g, the Oracle database has its own set of tools for identifying and resolving performance issues. Review My Oracle Support <Document 276103.1> "PERFORMANCE TUNING USING 10g ADVISORS AND MANAGEABILITY FEATURES" for information on these tools if you have a 10g database. The same features are also available in 11g.
