On Startup, dm_oracle Back-Ends Dies (Doc ID 460885.1)

Symptoms

Upon startup, the dm_oracle backend errors out (ORA-12535 - TNS:operation timed out) and a number of dm_oracle processes die. The resulting number of dm_oracle processes is lower than the expected number (e.g. 179 instead of 267). These are not re-spawned since the dm_restart_children is set to 0.

The database has more than enough connections available for the dm_oracle backend.
