Mrp Planning Not Calculating Correctly If Component Item In The Bom Is Lot Basis
(Doc ID 470551.1)
Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2019
Applies to:
Oracle Materials Requirement Planning - Version 12.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Goal
- The requirement is to have a fixed number components available for
destructive testing per discrete job. Not a percentage.
- The customer wants to use the new LOT bases component requirements
to set as side two components per job for destructive testing.
Standard MRP and item BOMs using new LOT based component requirements.
The new to R12 BOM component requirement functionality allows
a BOM to list a component requirement by LOT based or ITEM based.
Examples:
- Item Basis:
Assembly Item A requires
Qty 1 of component B per Item A (this is Item Basis)
So for job quantity of 10 for assembly item A we would need
a quantity of 10 component B's.
- LOT Basis:
Assembly Item A requires
Qty 2 of component B per DISCRETE JOB (this is LOT Basis)
So no matter the job quantity for assembly item A we would need
a quantity of 2 of component B's for each JOB.
- For a Job Qty of 10 with the above example Item and Lot base requirements
we would need a total of 2 of comp B.
