Symptoms

When a custom Change Handler is plugged-in a base entity e.g. Person, the following error occurs when trying to delete an existing Person record.

System Error. Please see logs for more details.
If you need support please supply the following info to system support:
Message number: 11001, 502
Call sequence: ;CIPZCTJN;CIPZUXGN;CIPCPERR;CIPCPERP

The log file shows:
ERROR (support.cobol.CobolToJavaGateway) Error invoking method handle
java.lang.NullPointerException

However, when the custom Change Handler is removed, the Person record can be successfully deleted.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a custom Change Handler for a Person or Account Entity.
2. Try to delete an existing record for that entity.
3. An error message will be encountered: "System Error. See logs for more details."
4. Open the spl.log file to view the stack trace of the error encountered.
