Getting ORA-01455 Running Union SQL in OFSA After Upgrade to or Higher (Doc ID 550329.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 18, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Financial Data Manager - Version 4.5.39 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
Oracle Financial Services Applications (OFSA) 4.5.39

After upgrading the OFSA database to Oracle or a higher version, you receive the following error when running a SQL statement containing a UNION clause in SQL Talk:

(203105) Oracle drv_oci error:

OCI Function: [12] - ofetch(), ofen()
SQL Function: [4] - SELECT
Oracle Error: ORA-01455: converting column overflows integer datatype

Driver Function: drv_oci::FetchNext()

The same SQL statement runs successfully in SQL*Plus.  Additionally, if you break the Union SQL into two separate pieces and run each individually, each piece runs successfully in SQL Talk by itself.  The error only occurs when the "Union" clause is added.

You have already made the init.ora changed recommended in My Oracle Support <Document 258083.1> "Cannot Query Numeric Field with No Specified Scale in SQLTALK in RDBMS 9i" and the error still occurs.
