ASCP Uncontrained Plan Generates Planned Orders With Compression Days Inside The Planning Time Fence (PTF) (Doc ID 552506.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Advanced Supply Chain Planning - Version 11.5.10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
FORM:MSCFNSCW.FMB - Planner Workbench

Symptoms

Users run an unconstrained ASCP plan with Planning Time Fence (PTF) enabled and a particular Organization item attribute setup with Planning Time Fence = Total Lead Time (In the MPS/MRP Planning tab) - the value for this is 101 days in the Lead Time tab.  Please note that this is a Buy item and not a Make item.  Data collections runs successfully and collects this data and the plan runs successfully (Planning Time Fence is enabled in the ASCP plan names/options form).

In the planning instance ASCP workbench - MSCFNSCW, many of the recommendations for the Planned Orders for this Buy item are within the time fence of 101 days. This can be seen from the compression days of 30, 21, 10, 5 etc for the planned orders for supply on the item.  Normally we would expect ASCP MRP plan recommendation to respect the planning time fence so that the Planned Orders are not recommended within the time fence of the lead time days. But we see from above that the plan is recommending that the Planned Orders within the lead time days leading to compression days that cannot be fulfilled by suppliers.

STEPS:
1. Run ASCP unconstrained plan with PTF enabled
2. Check the plan results in the planners workbench and see planned orders generated with compression days and thus not honoring the PTF
