Chaining Error : The ‘To Date’ Cannot Exceed the Furthest Out ‘Sales Date’ (Doc ID 553925.1)

On 7.2 in Production:
Created a new item for an Existing Location and selected an existing Item from that location as a
From, To and Start Date were populated by default, no changes made. But when clicked at 'Chain',
it gives an error message:

'The To-Date cannot exceed furthest out sales date'.

Confirmed the source (item-location combination ) has sales data upto  '31-Dec-07' in sales_data table.

last_date: 01-JAN-00
last_date_backup: 31-DEC-07
min_sales_date:05-07-2001 00:00:00
max_fore_sales_date:12-25-2006 00:00:00
time_sig : 08-OCT-07
Promotionsstartdate: 01-JAN-00
work_status: 08-OCT-07
max_sales_date: 31-DEC-2007 (From Sys_Params)

The ‘To Date’ can not exceed the furthest out ‘Sales Date’.


1. Open chaining Management.

2. Create a new item for an Existing Location and enter as target.

3. Select an existing Item from that location as a  source.

4. Click on Chain. Get the error message.
