Symptoms

When attempting to launch Agile eHub, the following error occurs in the application event log:

ERROR: "Failed to connect to the specified database"

Error in the Oracle alert log (drive:\oracle\admin\...\bdump)

ERROR: ORA-01110: data file 'D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\AA8I\XXXX.DBF' needs recovery'

Connecting to database from SQLPlus: ORA-01033 "Oracle initialization or shut down in progress"
