Symptoms

Unable to add file attachments

Unable to get file attachments

Error: The Preferred file server: http://[web server]/Filemgr/AttachmentServlet for user [user ID] is down. Please contact system administrator

Tomcat stdout.log shows BAD PACKET error, followed by NullPointerException.

opmn logs recording errors

Error "javax.net.ssl.SSLHandshakeException: sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: No trusted certificate found"

Fact: File Manager Proxy server in DMZ

Fact: Using SSL connections

Fact: Certificate is self certified or certified by uncommon Root Certificate Authority
