Symptoms

You receive the following error message when migrating a mapping rule or condition:

Calling api AZ_PreValidator(oracle.apps.az.migrator.prevalidator.server.AZMigPreValidatorAM)

Processing AZ_PreValidator with the following parameters:
AZ_PreValidator.xml
Importing rows from xml file, and validating rows ......

** EXCEPTION **: Exceptions thrown during the api call.
The target instance has a different database character encoding than the source instance.
The target instance has a different database character encoding than the source instance.

API transaction rolled back.
Exception catched in AZ_PreValidator.
java.lang.Exception:

Loader request completed.

Changes

Source and target instance may have different patch levels and/or different charactersets between the two instances.
