Percent Distribution Mapping Rule Result Much Higher Than Expected

(Doc ID 728474.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 12, 2008

Applies to:

Oracle Profitability Manager - Version: 11.5.10
This problem can occur on any platform.

In Profitability Manager 11i, a Percent Distribution FEM_BALANCES Mapping Rule is not outputting the correct results.  The rule is supposed to take an aggregate balance from the initial data source and add, subtract,  multiply, or divide it by the percent distribution driver aggregate value.  Force to 100 is not checked in the percent distribution screen.

Example when addition (+) is used:

Aggregated Source: -985,199,947.2
Aggregated Pct Dist: 810,198,818.00

The output should equal -175,001,129.2.

However, the Mapping Rule engine output is much higher: 5,496,390,597.

The Mapping Rule Tuning Options use data slicing and there are multiple values in the data slicing column so multiple data slices are generated by the Mapping Rule engine.
