Parameters to Consider When Increasing GPS / AVL Location Report Frequency in Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Management (MWM) (Doc ID 740419.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 09, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Utilities Mobile Workforce Management - Version to 1.5.0 [Release 1.4 to 1.5]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

The value of both the "Interval" parameter in the GPSSupport.ini file and the "ReceiptofAVLReportTimeOutSecs" parameter in the DHTSVINI database table are currently set to 600. If the values are not the same, will GPS function properly? Are there other parameters that will need to be modified as well to ensure that GPS is working properly? If the value is changed so that the packets are sent more frequently, will this cause a problem in the database?  What should the values of the pertinent GPS parameters be changed to in order to accomodate a 30 second interval?  Please advise as to whether these are the only 2 parameters required to be in synch.
