OSM Patch Upgrade - catridge_management_ws.ear Clarification (Doc ID 743830.1)

Goal

Is it necessary to undeploy both OSM and the catridge_management_ws from WebLogic console or just OSM when upgrading from one patch of OSM to another? Traditionally OSM Installer ( InstallSparc.bin) creates two ear files: oms.ear and catridge_management_ws.ear under /<osm_appl>/bin.

As part of the upgrade procedure from Order and Service Management, 6.3.1, b102 Patch Readme file there are two steps mentioned:
-Undeploy the OSM application via the WebLogic Console.
-Delete the OSM application via the WebLogic Console.
