Cannot Move Closed Accounts Into Or Out Of Hierarchy (Doc ID 757857.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 21, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version: 7.2.1.0.0
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

When trying to remove a closed account from a hierarchy or add a closed account to a hierarchy,
Customer Center generates an error message preventing the action:

" This account cannot be moved because it is closed."

According to the documentation:

You can remove any account from a hierarchical group displayed on the Hierarchy tab except the
top-level account. The account you remove does not have to be open.

Used to be able to do this in 6.5. Why is it being prevented now?

Steps to reproduce :

Case 1:
1. Close an account in a hierarchy
2. Select hierarchy tab of the closed account in Customer Center
3. Click the move button

Case 2:
1. Close an account that is not in a hierarchy
2. Select the hierarchy tab of the closed account in Customer Center
3. Click the move button
