Symptoms

When attempting to view a file from a distant/remote site (vault) executing "Online Transfer",
the following error message appears:
... File "test.xls" could not be copied!

Directory listing shows the wrong file permissions for the distributed copy:
... Site ka (initial local checkin)
... path: /PLM61/edbvault/areaKA/14
... -rw------- ...1...edbserv...staff...7275...Jan 12 07:07 ... 110082.00e

... Site hh (distributed copy):
... path: /PLM61/edbvault/areaHH/28
... ---xr-s--- ...1...edbserv...staff...7275...Jan 12 07:10 ... 210114.00e

File server logfile "fms.log" shows:

... Begin CAP 127, Internal file transfer function
... Request from User: Administrator, Host: <hostname>
... PLM Info: <USER:USER-2-HH> <USER-ID:1001> <GROUP:EDB> <GROUP-ID:100>
... Receive signal, go down...

Steps To Reproduce

1. Activate Distributed File Management, configuration parameter EDB-DFM-ACTIVATE = 1

2. Configure two different vaults with different sites for ONE fileserver - same RPC port
... <vault>...<type>...<kind>...<site>...<node>...<disc+path>...<RPC-Port>
... EIF-1...IN...EIF...ka...<hostname>.../PLM61/edbvaults_ka/areaKA/...804257548
... EIF-2...IN...EIF...hh...<hostname>.../PLM61/edbvaults_ka/areaHH/...804257548

3. Configure the target vault definition (Manager > Tools > Replication > File Replication (DFM) > Target Vaults
... <site>...<vault>...<active>...<default>...
... ka...EIF-1...Y...Y...
... hh...EIF-2...Y...Y...

4. Start a client with EP_DDM_SITE "ka".

5. Create a 2D Drawing document "test" and checkin a file "test.xls".

6. Start a second client with EP_DDM_SITE "hh".

7. Open the document mask and load document "test".

8. Click the button for viewing the related file.

9. Choose replication mode "Online Transfer".

10. Error message appears:
... File "test.xls" could not be copied!
