Workflow Email Notifications Are Not Sent Due to MS Exchange Transport Service Queue Out of Disk Space (Doc ID 782376.1)

Last updated on JULY 29, 2015

Applies to:

Oracle Agile PLM Framework - Version 9.2.1.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Approver and Observer users stopped receiving workflow notification emails.

Errors appear in agile.log:

Exception : Sending failed;
nested exception is:
javax.mail.MessagingException: 452 4.3.1 Insufficient system resources

2009-02-10 21:42:09,883 <SendEmailListener:ERROR> <Email Notification Subsystem>
Exception while sending email. Reason : Email send failed. Email details :
Subject: <Administrator administrator (administrator) has sent [...]

Besides the workflow notification failure, the system is up and running. No report of problems with the end user functionality of the Agile PLM. Workflow actions are displayed in the WebClient Inbox.

Global notifications (sent from JavaClient | Admin, which are not routed by email) are working.

Application server connects to Microsoft (MS) Exchange SMTP gateway to send email notifications.

On the MS Exchange server, the Application Event Log contain records for Event ID 15002 from MSExchangeTransport saying:

The resource pressure is constant at High. Statistics...

These should occur at the same time the 'Insufficient system resources' errors are reported in agile.log on the Agile PLM application server.

Agile workflow notification should be sent periodically (task runs every 10 minutes by default).
