How to Pare Down RPAS 13.x Domains Using copyDomain Utility (Doc ID 812878.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 03, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server - Version 13.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Purpose

This document outlines the proper procedure to be followed when preparing RPAS 13.x domain copies for shipment to Oracle Retail Support. In certain cases, it may be necessary for support engineers to request a true copy of a production environment in order to adequately troubleshoot a reported issue. These domain copies can be sent to Support via secure FTP, or they may be shipped directly on an accepted storage medium.

Before uploading or shipping, work with your RPAS support engineer to obtain instructions on paring down your environment such that only pertinent files are packaged and shipped. In RPAS versions 13.x and greater, the paring down process is greatly facilitated by use of the copyDomain utility with –clone parameter. This document outlines the basic steps you can employ to copy environments using this command, such that only the minimum amount of information is shipped that still allows the engineer to reproduce the issue.

For instructions on paring down RPAS environments versions 12.x and prior, please visit <Note 338280.1>, or contact your Oracle Support Representative.
