When Checking Files out of the Vault on the Fileserver, received error: "xfile_cko_res returns error 19101" (Doc ID 824886.1)

Symptoms

The checkout of files often aborts with error 19101 in xfile_cko_res.
The server tracefiles show following error messages:
Datei "A1.tif" konnte nicht kopiert werden!
(file "A1.tif" could not be copied!)
Server-Meldung: FMS Client : Error in [Socket IO]: Can't send control bytes (Input/output error)
ERR ** 30.10.2008 13:20:34 -----> auschecken fehlerhaft beendet
ERR ** 30.10.2008 13:20:34 -----> (checkout did finish with errors)
and
FMS Client : Error in [Socket IO]: Can't send control bytes (Input/output error)
[FMS_IO] --------------------------------> ERROR file
>A1.tif< server message >FMS Client : Error in [Socket IO]:
Can't send control bytes (Input/output error)<
[FMS_IO] 0000000.000 (13:47:50 11/04/2008) Exiting "xfile_io_fmsInterface"(), RC=19101

The Fileserver logfile displays following message:
Tue Nov 4 13:47:50 2008 : error during transfer (number of bytes not match)
Tue Nov 4 13:47:50 2008/124/4963/ERROR : Error in [Socket IO]: General error on receiving a file
(/db/seccadim.3/archiv/4400_4499/rw9a1062409.674)
Tue Nov 4 13:47:50 2008/124/4963/ENTRY : end CAP 124

Steps To Reproduce:
Reproducible about 3 out of five times. After a reboot of the fileserver machine checkout works
for one or two hours but then it reappears again.
