NP Not Generating The Error Message Based On Error Response Received (Doc ID 838507.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 22, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications IP Service Activator - Version 5.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
This problem can occur on any platform.

Symptoms

This problem could happen on any external party cartridge, in this case it was the FibroLAN cartridge. When an error is received from the device for a command, the NP captures the error message but does not generate the error response defined in errormessages.xml. In a test a subsequent test, moving the command session error patterns into per command error patterns, the NP is able to match and raise an error. The expected behavior is the error patterns in command session should be applicable to the commands in the command session. Per command error patterns should not be required.

Note that, in the Cisco Banner Java service cartridge sample, it does not use per-command error/success warning patterns. The patterns are set in the xxxMessages.xml, not in the AnnotatedDmToCli.java code.
