Error "Unable To Set Top Directory" Upon Clicking Any Psub Menu. (Doc ID 844522.1)

Last updated on MARCH 08, 2017

Applies to:

Oracle Clinical - Version: 4.5 and later   [Release: 4.5 and later ]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When one particular OC account tries to access any PSUB menu

For example: Conduct > Data Validation > Batch Validation Session

in one OC 4.5.1 database, the error message pops up: "322000: Unable to set top directory".

However, this same account works fine in other OC 4.5.1 databases residing on the same Unix server. Other accounts in that database do not have any issue.

-- Steps To Reproduce:
1. Create a normal OC account with roles (such as RXC_DMGR) to access PSUB menus

Conduct > Data Validation > Batch Validation Session.

When entering this account into the RXC.ORACLE_ACCOUNTS table, make sure the ORACLE_ACCOUNT_NAME column is in upper case. This occurs automatically if it is entered from OC.

2. Now, from SQL*Plus, either insert a new entry into the RXC.ORACLE_ACCOUNTS table or update an existing entry such that the ORACLE_ACCOUNT_NAME column is the same as the one entered in Step 1 but this time all in lower case. This is possible only through SQL*Plus.

3. In OC (Admin > Users > Oracle Accounts), only the account entered in Step 1 will be displayed.

4. As the Step 1 OC user do the following

Conduct > Data Validation > Batch Validation Session.
