Calls Spanning Overlay Rateplan And Normal Rateplan Do Not Get Split (Doc ID 845061.1)

Last updated on SEPTEMBER 02, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version: 7.0.0.0.0 to 7.4.0.0.0 - Release: 7.0.0 to 7.4.0
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Requirement:
Configured an overlay rateplan to provide some flat rates to all international calls between 8pm
to 8am between 1 May to 15May . This rateplan is applied through a system product which is
applicable for all customers. For the time (8am to 8pm), the original rateplans needs to be
used(which will be of course different for different customers).

For the overlay rate plan, a time model with two timezones( 8pm-8am and 8am-8pm) has been defined
and the rateplan configuration has been configured for all the international timezones for the
8pm-8am timezone. So normal scenarios work properly.

Problem:
If the call starts before 8pm and extends after 8pm or if the call starts before 8am and goes
after 8am, it does not get rated with the overlay rateplan at all.

Expectation
Call needs to be split appropriately and overlay rateplan needs to be used for the
duration falling in the promotion timeperiod(8pm-8am) and the remaining with the original rateplan.
