This problem can occur on any platform.
Adapter tried to load a particular file, 5 times, and the reports in the CCS were showing that the first one was successful and the others, as expected, failed (the price curves were already loaded). The file was still in the IN directory, and 6 files had been created in the OUT directory.
After verifying permissions in the server, it was found that the lodestar user could write and delete files, so that wasn't the problem.
In viewing the Adapter logs, it showed the file had actually been processed 7 times. The first one ended with an error "No more data to read from socket", which we are very convinced was caused due to a timeout (that particular day, the network was very, very slow).
The next attempt loaded the file successfully, and then the other attempts were not successful, as the file was the same curve.
The problem here was, that, for no apparent reason, Adapter didn't move (to another directory) the same file that have had a timeout trying to access in the previous attempt. That leaded to more errors.
The 5 attempts were caused because the retry parameter was set to 5.
