Are ASAP's Inactive DB Sessions Needed? (Doc ID 859155.1)

Last updated on DECEMBER 04, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications ASAP - Version 7.0.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Over 900+ inactive Oracle sessions created. These processes are killed on stopping ASAP. This adds to load on server & regular bounce of ASAP, Oracle to free the memory consumed by these inactive processes. i.e. when we run a:

ps -eaf | grep oracle | wc -l

on the server it shows > 900 processes with ASAP running & just around 35 to 40 processes with ASAP being down.
