This document addresses problem associated with Oracle Database (10G or 11G) on Solaris platform. It was found that some configuration changes needs to be done on Oracle Database as well as on Solaris platform side to improve the performance. This slow performance was observed on platform utilizing server class running Solaris 10 operating system utilizing Veritas File Systems for SAN storage integration even though they were able to achieve sub-10 second response time on both Windows and Linux
