Goal

1. When backing up the Oracle Application Server portion, do we need to have any scripts ran to
stop Oracle services before backing up? or is it simply a directory backup?
If it's simply directory backups, please specify the exact directories. Please provide recommended
procedures and directories.

3. Which parameters are related to the installation and how can you determine the responses during the initial installation?  Some of the information is written
to registry settings or configuration files that we do not have documented and have no way of finding. However, much of the information is stored in a few configuration files. The
information below points you to those files and presents the screen shots from the “WAM Oracle Application Server 10G Installation Guide for Release V1.8” related to the configuration files.
The page number and sample screen shot is shown along with the XML configuration file name.
