Consider the following example:

1. 2 identical Items A and B both MPS/MPP planned in the same organization

2. Both items have the same following MDS entries:

Qty = 10 due 25-SEP-2009
Qty = 5 due 02-OCT-2009
Qty = 5 due 09-OCT-2009

3. No on hand nor any other supply is available for either item for the moment

4. Created an MPS plan with one entry for Item A only as follows (no MPS entries for Item B):

Qty = 10 due 25-SEP-2009

5. Setup Plan as follows:

--ASCP Only - Ran collections and setup ASCP plan with attached MDS and MPS schedules as noted

--MPS/SCP Only - Setup MRP/SCP plan with attached MDS and MPS schedules as noted

6. Plan output shows the following:

Item A:  Shows all 3 demands and only 1 firmed planned order for qty = 10 due 25-SEP-2009. No other supplies generated even though there is demand in 2 buckets in October

Item B:  Shows all 3 demands and 3 unfirm planned orders to meet each and every demand.

Is the system functioning as designed?
