Goal

The goal of this article is to explain how Elite TIFF images can be displayed in Whitehill Enterprise output documents when multi pass templates are in use.

When a source file with TIFF images is sent to Whitehill Enterprise, by default Whitehill templates are enabled to process the images and display them in the outputted document.

Source file formatting can be done using one template, but there are times when more complex data manipulation requires a source file to be passed through multiple templates.  When multipass templates are used, images are not placed back into the source file at each stage, so the images are lost by the time the source file reaches the final template.

Source file images can be passed from template to template by using the "Create Image Reference" option in the template setup.  This option saves the images to a temporary folder, then puts references to the images in the source file.  The final template can then use the references to retrieve the images and include them in the final document.  Each template which passes the source file onto another template must have the "Create Image Reference" option enabled in order for the images to display on the final document.
