"Invalid Public Group ID" message when configuring a database connection

Trying to connect to the database for the first time but receiving errors when configuring the connection:


This problem can occur with either 'P3e' or 'Methodology Manager' and is independent of the database type that you are using, e.g. MS SQL or Oracle. The solution is the same for each case.

Background:

1) Trying to login to the application receive an error logging in:


2) Proceed through the database connection wizard including the 'Public login Information' as detailed below:


3) However, the "Invalid Public Group ID" error is still generated.

4) My 'pubuser' details work correctly for my Project Manager database - what's wrong?
