The following message may occur while attempting to log in to P6 Professional client application, "Could not connect to the database. Would you like to configure the connection now?"
The message "ORA-12154: TNS could not resolve the connect identifier specified" or "ORA-12514: TNS:listener could not resolve SERVICE_NAME given in connect descriptor" when performing any of the following actions:
For Project Management or Methodology Management:
- Creating or configuring a database alias.
- Creating or upgrading a database (configasst.exe or dbsetup.bat)
- Running a schema validation (valsch.exe or validate.bat)
- Starting the TPGS Windows service and the error is shown in the Windows event viewer.
