Error: "The User Preferences used to create this Excel file could not be found" or "...are not the same" When Attempting to Import an Excel Spreadsheet into P6 Professional (Doc ID 899144.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to import an XLSX file, one of the following errors occurs:

The User Preferences used to create this Excel file could not be found. Importing this file could corrupt your data. Please refer to Primavera Help for more information about Importing data from Excel. Are you sure that you want to continue?

The User Preferences used to create this Excel file are not the same as your current preferences. Importing this file could corrupt your data. Please refer to Help for more information about importing data from Excel. Are you sure that you want to continue?

Process did not complete successfully. See log file for details.

For the last error, the following entries can be found in the C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\<Local, LocalLow, OR Roaming>\Temp\prm_xlsximport.log file for each Activity that was not modified in the file:

ERROR: Failed to find a matching object for Activity <Activity ID>.

If only a single row is imported that was modified in the XLSX file, the application reports that the import completed successfully but no changes are made to the project in P6.
