FYI: Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere 7 Cache Settings (Doc ID 902581.1)
Last updated on JULY 12, 2016
Optimize database server performance via appropriately scaled cache memory.
How to determine Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere 7 Cache Settings.
Sybase loads database pages in to cache memory to provide rapid response to database queries and other user interactions. When this cache fills, it must be flushed before new queries can be run. Higher usage or larger data sets can result in a small cache setting being flushed more frequently than desired. This frequent flushing results in delayed queries and slower performance for end users.
Database performance seems intermittently impaired, or server appears to hang after a certain amount of activity.
Performance problems may appear in Sybase Adaptive Server Anywhere as the database size and user volume increases over time.
