Cost code definitions are an optional feature that enable you to sort and display cost information in custom reports.
When you add a cost code, you can refer to the cost code definition structure established by your organization to properly format the complete cost code.
Creating cost codes that conform to an established cost code definition format enables you to use the definitions to customize cost reports by filtering, sorting, and grouping on any part of your definition. See the Contract Management User Guide or online Help within the application for more information about cost code definitions and cost codes.
Columns that represent the cost code definitions are placed on the CSMT_TABLE and the CSMT view. If the same exact cost code definition columns do not appear on both the CSMT_TABLE and the CSMT view errors will result when attempting to add a new cost code or edit an existing cost code.
