How to Manually Install Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Server Express for Use With Primavera P6 (Doc ID 906474.1)

Goal

This document provides a set of directions to manually install Microsoft SQL Server or SQL Express for use with Primavera P6 EPPM or P6 Professional.  Although "SQL Express" is mentioned in the instructions, the steps are the same for the full SQL Server product.

The free SQL Express product is not supported with P6 EPPM (P6 Enterprise/P6 Web), as it lacks certain features that are required for P6 EPPM.  SQL Express is only supported with P6 Professional standalone or client/server installations. 

P6 EPPM is supported with the full SQL Server database platform.
