Goal

When Microsoft SQL Server is installed using Windows Authentication only, the default sysadmin user, sa, is disabled by default as a security measure. Similarly, various security options allow accounts to become automatically disabled if too many failed login attempts are made, if they are not used for a certain amount of time, or if suspicious or long running queries are executed using those accounts. This document explains how to enable a user account in Microsoft SQL Server 2005.
