EAI_JS Process Goes Down Abruptly When the Unix Terminal Closed (Doc ID 951288.1)

Last updated on AUGUST 26, 2019

Applies to:

Oracle Communications Billing and Revenue Management - Version 7.3.1.0.0 to 7.4.0.0.0 [Release 7.3.0 to 7.4.0]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

After starting eai_js process, as soon as we close the putty terminal from which the process was started, eai_js process goes down. Because of this problem one has to keep putty terminal window open after restarting eai_js process.

Other observations:

1.  Usually one uses exit command for closing the putty terminal. Even if we just close the window with the X button, the result is same, eai_js still goes down as soon as we close the terminal.
2.  Tried starting the process in the background also, but of no use.
3.  eai_js is the only process which goes down after closing putty terminal. cm and dm processes are unaffected
4.  start_eai_js is used to bring up the process
