Goal

Our design for the client having automation tasks, this will wait for the external systems more than 1 month for respond. The metalink document “<> FAQ for OSM Designers” tells that it is a bad design, and all the automations need to be completed within a short time, or else it will affect scalability.

Is there any other way for doing this functionality? The external systems will respond after a long period of time; afterwords order has to be updated.

This note provide alternate solutions and reasoning for it.
