Symptoms

On 12.1.1 in Development:
Users are testing the VMI Replenishment engine in Collaborative Planning. When they setup the organization item attributes to use Min or Max Qty, they get replenishment supplies generated by the engine. However with the following setup, average daily forecast is calculated as 0 and they do not get any replenishment orders generated

Min Days of Supply = 10
Max Days of Supply = 50
Window = 100
Average Daily Demand Calculation = Order Forecast

They upload the Order Forecast by load supply/demand in collaborative planning into table MSC_SUP_DEM_ENTRIES with column PUBLISHER_ORDER_TYPE_DESC = Order Forecast. They loaded this in weekly buckets and just about every bucket is just about filled from Oct 2009 to APR 2010

They ran data collections to pick up the item data and then ran MSCXREPB module: VMI Replenishment Engine - however we can see in the log file the average daily demand is calculated as 0 so hence no supply replenishment will occur. We don't know why. Developer Nagendra Vankadari, via email, suggested to customer to input column RECEIPT_DATE in the table MSC_SUP_DEM_ENTRIES - but this did not work.

Changes

Using Min/Max Days of Supply with Window Days populated instead of using Min/Max Qty in the organization item attributes
