Discount Pipeline Fails To Start When EVAL() Token Is Used In Trigger With Return Data Type "Long"

A discount trigger was created. It attempts to use an EVAL() token to cause it to fire. The token is supposedly allowed since it's there in the GUI, but the pipeline will not start once the trigger is associated with a discount model.
This is the error that is displayed:
