BI Problem in OWB Unable to Start_Service ORA-29532: Java Call Terminated by Uncaught Java Exception (Doc ID 980463.1)

When trying to start the OWB service using the start_service script the process does not complete successfully. Instead the following error is encountered (referencing illegal authentication):

1. sqlplus OWBSYS/OWBSYS
