Purpose

The purpose of this document is to offer a list of solutions in order to solve an issue when trying to connect to the AutoVue server from a client machine the AutoVue applet only displays "Error. Click for details".

There is also an error message in the Java console:

Exception: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.cimmetry.jvue.JVue.class
load: class com.cimmetry.jvue.JVue.class not found.

at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager.createApplet(Unknown Source)
at sun.plugin2.applet.Plugin2Manager$AppletExecutionRunnable.run(Unknown Source)
at java.lang.Thread.run(Unknown Source)
...

There are several possible causes for this error:

  1. The jvue.jar file is not deployed in the application/web server.
  2. The CODEBASE parameter does not specify the correct location.
  3. The java certificates might be wrong or outdated.
  4. Clients are accessing the AutoVue applet through a proxy server.
