Information in this document applies to any platform.
This document applies to Oracle RDBMS Enterprise Edition, versions 188.8.131.52 and 184.108.40.206. This note does not apply to Parallel Statement Queuing in 220.127.116.11.
The Oracle Database Resource Manager can be used in many ways - managing CPU, I/O, parallel execution, runaway queries, etc. This note addresses issues that are specific to managing parallel execution using Parallel Statement Queuing. Parallel Statement Queuing is enabled by setting the parameter parallel_degree_policy to "auto".
Below is a list of the most critical, known bugs for Parallel Statement Queuing. These bug fixes are recommended for all customers that are either evaluating or using Parallel Statement Queuing.
For other recommended bug fixes, monitoring scripts, and other tips for Resource Manager, see the Primary Note for Oracle Database Resource Manager MOS <Document 1339769.1>.
|Bug||Bug Description||Recommended Releases|
DBRM DBMS_RESOUCE_MANAGER.CALIBRATE_IO REPORTS VERY HIGH MAX_PMBPS ON EXADATA
The database calibration function, dbms_resource_manager.calibrate_io(), is used to generate optimal degree-of-parallelism when parallel_degree_policy = "auto". This fix decreases the amount of time needed to run database calibration on RAC databases. It also generates more accurate data, leading to better SQL execution plans and more optimal degree-of-parallelism.
INCORRECT PQQ STATS FOR NON-REGULATED VT'S (LOG MINER - MS01)
This bug fix prevents errors like ORA-700 [kgskmodsvcdop:negative] and ORA-700 [kskqfinish_int:baddecr1] when Parallel Statement Queuing is used with log miner or other Oracle backgrounds that use parallel execution.
DBMV2: ORA-600 SIGNALED AND INSTANCE TERMINATION
This error can occur when Parallel Statement Queuing is used with the "switch_group" directive for runaway query management. This bug can cause parallel execution to hang.
SESSION MADE INACTIVE TOO EARLY WITH REGARD TO PQQ
The defect 10047058 is fixed in 18.104.22.168. If this is not possible to upgrade 22.214.171.124, a backport for 126.96.36.199 can be requested raising a Service Request at Oracle Support.
