Fusion Applications OTBI: Custom Analysis based on multiple Subject Areas ("Cross Subject Area") returns "None of the fact tables are compatible with the query request" or "No fact table exists at the requested level of detail" error (Doc ID 1532276.1)

When creating a Business Intelligence analysis with the intention of joining Performance Task and Document information with Employee details the resulting analysis fails with an error.

The analysis is created as follows :

1) Create an analysis based on the "Workforce Performance - Performance Task Status Real Time" Subject Area.
2) Add [Performance Task] and [Performance Task Status], then add [Person Number] from the "Workforce Performance - Performance document Status Real Time" Subject Area.
3) Click on the Results tab and the following error is returned :
