After Certain Amount of Time, Active Working User Is Redirected to Fusion Home Page or Gets Connection Error, OAM Operation Error

Information in this document applies to any platform.
After about an hour of activity in the a fusion page (i.e. compensation worksheet), users are redirected to the main welcome page and any data that they were working on after their last save will be lost.
Other possible intermittent symptoms for the same root cause:
1) Intermittent OAM errors:
Oracle Access Manager Operation Error
The WebGate plug-in is unable to contact any Access Servers.
Contact your website administrator to remedy this problem.
2) Intermittent errors like
A connection to the server has failed. (status=500/502/12019)
Steps to reproduce:
1. Log in to fusion application
2. Actively conduct some work (i.e. working on compensation worksheet) for an hour
3. After one hour, the user will be redirected to main welcome page
