How to Hide Menu Items in Fusion Applications using Menu Item Customization (Doc ID 1550048.1)

The menu options a user can see under a specific menu is based on the user’s security profile. For example if the user is an HR Specialist he would expect to see menu items that an HR Specialist user can perform, this can be controlled through granting/revoking Duty Roles to that user.

However there may be a need for certain customers to be able to turn off some menu items such that their users will not be able to access the corresponding UIs. This can be accomplished using the Manage Menu Customization task from Function Setup Manager (FSM) UI.

NOTE: This will stop all users from being able to launch the UI once it has been disabled. If the requirement is to hide the menu option for certain set of users then that has to be done by changing the Security Profile by removing the corresponding Duty role for the user which would in turn control options the user gets access to. These changes will need to be done using APM, this document is to describe how you can achieve the former option.
