Fusion Global HR/Absence Management: Need To Prorate The Entitlement In An Accrual Plan For New Hires / Terminated Employees

Symptoms

Need to Prorate the Entitlement in an Accrual Plan for New Hires / Terminated Employees: Have an accrual plan set up on 1st January on a yearly frequency and a yearly term. For employees who are hired earlier than 1st January of the current year, the accrual plan shows the right balances.  But if an employee joins later in the year, he should be eligible for prorated number of days in the current year itself.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Define an accrual plan with term as starting 01/01 (Calendar Year); accrual formula used = ACCRUAL_SIMPLE_MULTIPLIER
2. Hire an employee with joining date 01-Jan-2010, accrual is calculated correctly
3. Hire an employee with joining date 01-Jul-2010, accrual is not calculated
