The Task Expiration Policy was Modified and Recent Notifications Inconsistently Disappear (Doc ID 1592933.1)

Symptoms

Users want to expire the task after a fixed duration. The expiration policy is set for fifteen minutes for notifications in BPM Worklist for this example although any number can be chosen.  The task in the work list notification expired after fifteen minutes but the task still displays in the recent notifications.

The task expired after fifteen minutes from the work list notification but still appears in the recent notification.
